  • How do I get a quote?
  • Click on any 'Get Quote' button. You will then need to select your policy type, and then answer the questions on the following application pages. Once the questions have been answered, the quotation will be provided instantly.

  • Can I obtain an insurance quotation by telephoning directly?
  • We estimate that from whole process from the beginning to incepting the policy will take 5 minutes

  • How long are quotes valid ?
  • Quotations are valid for 30 days. If you do not wish to purchase the insurance policy straight away, you will be provided with a username and password, and you can come back later to retrieve your quotation. However, your quotation will be deleted after 30 days.

  • When can I start the policy ?
  • You can start the policy immediately. However, if you are renewing a policy, the policy will commence from the renewal date.

  • I have generated a quote, how do I view it again ?
  • When you initially obtained a quotation, you would have been provided with a username and password. On the homepage of the coverfirst website, you can login by entering this username and password. You can then view the quotes that were previously obtained.

  • What confirmation do I receive that cover is in place ?
  • You will receive an email with your policy documents and a certificate of currency which will confirm that cover is in place. You can also view these documents securely on the coverfirst website in 'Clienthub'.

  • When will I receive my policy documents ?
  • You will receive an email with your policy documents immediately once payment has been confirmed.

  • How do I view my policy online ?
  • When you receive an email with your policy documents, this will also contain your username and password. On the homepage of the coverfirst website, you can login by entering this username and password. You can then view your policy online.

  • What does coverfirst charge for using this service ?
  • CoverFirst receives a commission from the insurer when a policy is incepted. In addition, there may be an administration charge on the policy.

  • If I buy online are my credit card details secure ?
  • The CoverFirst site uses SSL which means you can rest assured that communications (e.g. credit card numbers) between your browser and this site's web servers are private and secure when the SSL session is activated. Furthermore the online credit card system is provided by PayPal, a reputable and entirely secure system.

  • Are there any credit card charges ?
  • No. CoverFirst don't charge additional fees for accepting credit card payments.

  • What are my payment options ?
  • You have two payment options, namely credit card using PayPal website and direct deposit.

  • What happens to my personal information ?
  • In order to obtain a quotation, personal information is requested by CoverFirst. This information is solely used to provide you with a quotation and to complete the policy documentation. CoverFirst does not sell or trade customer information.

  • Can I increase my policy limits or reduce them ?
  • Yes, you have the ability to make policy amendments during the course of the policy period and extend the policy period if so required. On the homepage of the CoverFirst website, you can login by entering this username and password. Note the Maximum Construction Period allowable is 24 months from the commencement of the project.

  • How do I make a claim ?
  • Click on the 'Make a Claim' page. You will be able to download a claim form which you will need to complete and submit to CoverFirst. CoverFirst will provide this to your insurer, who will handle the claim. Alternatively, you can contact our call centre on Tel 02 8055 1609.

  • What should I do if I have a complaint about coverfirst ?
  • If you are not fully satisfied with our services, you should contact our customer relations officer on Tel 02 8055 1609. eSentry Underwriting Pty Trading As CoverFirst subscribe to the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) Dispute Facility, a free consumer service. Further information is available from our office and website. If you are not satisfied with any of our services, please contact our office.

  • Where should I look for more detailed information about my policy ?
  • You should read the policy wording for the relevant insurer which is on our website and is available at the time that a quotation and policy is provided.

  • How can I get a new password ?
  • If you have forgotten your password, simply Click the 'Manage your policy' button and Click on the 'Forgotten Password' link, you will be required to enter your email address, the Password will be immediately emailed to your nominated email address.

  • Why does coverfirst use email verification ?
  • The verification email is a safe guard against software agents or robots that run autonomously and automatically, most commonly associated with malicious software. CoverFirst utilises this process to ensure the protection of our intellectual property and deliver a faster website experience.

  • What is an average clause ?
  • This means that in circumstances where you are required to specify a particular value (e.g. market value or replacement value) and the amount you specify is inadequate, any claim on an aspect of the Policy subject to "Average" will be paid in the same proportion as the amount you specified bears to 90% of the value which was required to be specified.

  • What happens if I need to extend my policy period ?
  • You have the ability to extend the policy period if so required. On the homepage of the CoverFirst website, you can login by entering your username and password. Extensions of policy coverage are subject to our online acceptance criteria. Note the Maximum Construction Period allowable is 24 months from the commencement of the project.

  • How can I obtain a certificate of insurance with an interested party noted ?
  • On the homepage of the CoverFirst website, you can login by entering your username and password. Within Clienthub you can view or download a copy of your current Certificate of Insurance, Policy Schedule and view Invoices.

Claims Procedures

CoverFirst and Tokio Marine are committed to prompt, professional and fair claims handling tailored to the individual needs of our clients. We want to consistently execute best claims practices to achieve the best outcome for our clients.

Making a claim with CoverFirst is simple and easy. We will help you and guide you through the whole claim process.

  • We will monitor all claims on a regular basis to ensure expeditious settlement.
  • All claims must be notified to CoverFirst or Tokio Marine immediately by downloading and completing the relevant claim form.
  • Please ensure that all relevant details are filled out on the specific Material Damage/ Loss or Liability claim form.
  • It is mandatory to include the subject project details: start and finish dates as well as the contract price.

With each claim form, you will need to attach or forward where applicable:

  • Photographs of the damage.
  • Repair / replacement quotations or order forms.
  • If the damage/loss has been repaired/ replaced please provide invoices.
  • Original purchase receipts/ documentation to show proof of ownership where possible.
  • Scope of repair works.

Once the above is received, Tokio Marine will determine and notify if they require a loss adjustor to attend and inspect damage/ the site. Please retain all damaged items if practical.

Complete Liability claim form.

  • Forward any third party correspondence including letters from solicitors, statements of claim, letters of demand immediately to eSentry/ Tokio Marine.
  • Do not admit liability for any incident whether verbally or in writing.
  • Take all reasonable steps following an incident to protect the person or property from further injury or damage.
  • Should any third party or their insurer/solicitor contact you, please avoid entering into any conversation with them regarding the alleged incident and refer them to eSentry/Tokio Marine.
  • Obtain as much information as possible for example witness details, contact details of all parties involved..

Tokio Marine will determine if a loss adjustor or solicitor is to be appointed, therefore please retain any relevant items/documentation and confirm specifics of location/site where incident occurred.
